Nate Burleson is very enthusiastic about the future of Colorado football.

The CBS Mornings and The NFL Today host was part of the coverage team for Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas and expressed his feelings about Deion Sanders taking over in Boulder.

“Shout out to Coach Prime, first of all…he came in hot, had the world on fire," Burleson said "You either loved him or you hated him. I just feel like players that were on that roster gave everything they got. Deion was looking at getting better talent and they landed some pretty big fish this offseason…They have the building blocks for success and they have exactly what they need to be a dominant team next year. But they have to finish what they started.”

With Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders returning to Boulder for their final season, all eyes will still be on Colorado next season. There's a possibility the duo will be in among the top five picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

“Shedeur is a top tier talent, he’ll be successful in the NFL," Burleson added. "Travis being able to play both ways, that’s unreal! You don’t see that. I’m all for supporting them and what they’re doing.”

Burleson also said he wants to make it out to Folsom Field for a game. The former NFL star turned broadcaster made history this past weekend. He was the first host for Nickelodeon's SpongeBob Super Bowl broadcast, which was an alternate version of the game catered towards children. Across all channels (including streaming), Super Bowl LVIII was the most-watched television event of all time.

Despite finishing the 2023 season with a 4-8 record, the Buffs also enjoyed ratings success. The matchups against Oregon and Colorado State were among the top five most viewed games in all of college football last season.
