On Sunday, the Boston Celtics filled their third and final two-way spot by signing Nathan Knight, as first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The former Minnesota Timberwolf had the best game of his career against his new team, registering a career-high 20 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and dishing out four assists in a 108-103 win in December of the 2021-22 season.

Knight, who spent training camp and the preseason with the New York Knicks, Boston's opening night opponent, shared that Al Horford's been a mentor to him. The Syracuse native also knows Oshae Brissett, who played for the Orange in college.

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Nathan Knight (13) dribbles against San Antonio Spurs center Jakob Poeltl (25).

To make room for the six-foot-ten forward, who's more of a four than a center but capable of bumping up to play the pivot, the Celtics waived Jay Scrubb.

The latter impressed enough at Summer League to earn a two-way deal with Boston but, unfortunately, tore his right ACL during practice at the Auerbach Center the day before the C's preseason opener.

As Scrubb rehabs, the plan's for him to remain around the Celtics. He was at Sunday's practice at the Auerbach Center.
