The Celtics are waiving power forward Luka Samanic, per Jared Weiss of The Athletic, and will sign shooting guard A.J. Reeves , as relayed by Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.

Samanic, 22, is 6-10 and was signed by the Celtics a month ago. He spent last season on a two-way deal with the Knicks, playing solely for Westchester of the G League.

Originally drafted by the Spurs with the No. 19 overall pick in 2019, Samanic spent his first two NBA seasons in San Antonio, averaging 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in 36 appearances overall. Most impressively, he averaged 28.1 points and 10.0 rebounds with the Westchester Knicks in seven games last season.

Reeves is 6-6 and went undrafted out of Providence. Along with Samanic, Reeves is likely headed for the Maine Celtics of the G League.
