Two-time Olympic gold medallist Claressa Shields has revealed her belief that she would leave Jake Paul embarrassed in a boxing ring.

Shields held world titles at light middleweight (undisputed), middleweight (undisputed) and super middleweight (unified) throughout her boxing career. He also won gold medals in London 2012 and Rio 2016.

That’s quite the C.V, with Shields also having moved into MMA to diversify her skillset. Her record currently stands at 1-1 after a debut win and a split decision defeat to Abigail Montes.

Jake Paul, on the other hand, is a YouTuber. He’s beaten a fellow YouTuber, a former NBA player and two washed-up UFC fighters. He doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Shields.

That said, the female fighter has taken aim at the Ohio-born social media star, revealing her belief that he’d stand no chance against her in a boxing ring. She’s quoted by the Sky Sports saying:

“I don’t know what world people live in that they think a man [could beat me] who has not been to the Olympics, who has not fought professionally.”

“There are a lot of women in boxing who could [out-box] men, especially a regular joe like Jake Paul!”

“I know it’s too much to fight him because it would be too embarrassing [for him], but if I were to spar Jake, I could use one hand.”

You don’t have to like Jake Paul, you don’t even have to respect him, but he’s being spoken about by some of the biggest and best fighters on the planet. He’s clearly doing something right…
