In a thrilling performance, Cooper Claycomb led the University of Louisville men’s golf team to a solid third-place finish at the Sea Best Invitational. The tournament took place at the prestigious TPC at Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

The Cardinals closed out the tournament with a strong showing on Tuesday, shooting a 4-over-par 284. They finished 16 shots behind tournament winners Florida, who won by a three-shot margin over North Florida. Louisville completed the two-day event with a total score of 18-over-par.

Claycomb was the standout performer for the Cardinals, carding a personal best of 5-under-par during the tournament. His exceptional final round score of 65 allowed him to tie with his teammate Max Kennedy for seventh place. Claycomb birdied three holes on each side of the course, showcasing his remarkable skill and consistency.

Kennedy, who had a fantastic second round on Monday with a score of 65, finished the tournament in seventh place. Despite shooting a solid 71 in the final round, his overall performance over the two days earned him a final score of 211.

Sebastian Moss also had a notable performance, moving up to 27th place after an impressive final round score of 75. Moss finished the tournament with a score of 217 after rounds of 72-70-75.

Clay Pendergrass had a steady showing, finishing in a tie for 48th place with scores of 73-76-73=222. Meanwhile, Easton Johnson ended the tournament in a tie for 61st place with rounds of 75-73-76=224.

The Cardinals will have a well-deserved break before returning to action on February 19-21 at the Prestige Invitational hosted by Stanford. This challenging tournament will surely test the team’s skills and provide an opportunity for them to continue their strong performance.
