Following its Bound For Glory from Cicero Stadium in Chicago, IL, this past Saturday, Impact held a set of TV tapings on Sunday.

It was Impact’s biggest event of the year and also featured the start of Ace Steel as a producer for the promotion. Steel was brought in on a tryout basis.

As previously reported, CM Punk was not backstage at Bound for Glory as he was at the Chicago Blackhawks game instead on Saturday night. There was talk of Steel wrestling Gauntlet For The Gold, but that was nixed because they didn’t want the fans to think Steel’s good friend in Punk would be appearing.

Haus of Wrestling reports that Punk did attend the Impact Wrestling on AXS TV tapings on Sunday. The report noted he showed up just before the tapings started and was taken to the locker room.

The report noted that Punk was talking with anyone who wanted to spend time with him, including “key Impact talent.”

This past April, Punk was backstage at an impact event. It was added that it didn't faze the talent because he had been at an event before. Steel was reportedly “warmly received backstage and seemed very happy to be back to work.”
