Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor has offered his reaction to Katie Taylor's first pro boxing defeat.

Taylor challenged Chantelle Cameron for the undisputed female junior welterweight championship. The action was held inside the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

This one went the distance and was action-packed for all 10 rounds. In the end, it was the pressure of Cameron that earned her the majority decision victory. After the fight, Taylor let it be known that she plans to exercise her rematch clause.

Mirror Fighting caught up with McGregor, who was in attendance for the unified title bout, and he revealed how he scored the fight.

"It was a great fight, close fight," McGregor said. "I had it a draw."

The "Notorious" one went on to applaud Taylor for her willingness to move up in weight after a planned rematch with Amanda Serrano couldn't take place on the May 20 date.

"She was scheduled for one different style of opponent, at a specific weight," McGregor said. "That fell through. So, last minute, what does Katie do, the warrior that's in her? 'Give me something I can aspire to. I want to go up in weight, I wanna fight the champion in the heavier weight at the drop of a hat.' Give her a chance, do it in Croke Park."

McGregor ended the chat by having some final words of encouragement for Taylor.

"Head up, you're the champion," McGregor said. "You're the Olympic champion and you're the world champion, still. Still, in your division."
