Tuesday the Washington Post released yet another damaging report about Washington Football Team owner Dan Snyder. Stacked under allegations of Snyder trying to interfere in the investigation into the team’s workplace culture is his pettiness directed at former team general manager Bruce Allen.

According to the Post, Snyder felt insulted when Allen sent Washington head coach Ron Rivera a congratulatory text following a press conference to announce Rivera’s hire in January 2020, but did not send a similar text to Snyder.

Allen was fired by Snyder shortly before Rivera’s hiring.

Snyder used the coronavirus pandemic in an attempt to not pay Allen all of the money owed to him under his contract. However, Allen’s text snub may have been reason deep down.

Allen fought back and ultimately Snyder agreed to pay the remainder of Allen’s salary.

According to the Post, Snyder requested Allen send him a text to say “Congrats on the hire” similar to what Allen sent Rivera. Allen didn’t agree to the terms, but received his money.

The text message detail is just the latest highlighting the feud between Snyder and Allen. Snyder accused Allen as the source for damaging stories about the WFT owner.

Court filings from Snyder against Allen suggested Allen was involved in a conspiracy to smear Snyder with stories about Snyder being acquainted with Jeffrey Epstein. Eventually, Snyder dropped the lawsuit.

But not before Snyder’s lawyers provided a series of emails from Allen to laminate Allen’s involvement with the media to defame Snyder. That included the racist, misogynists and homophobic comments from Jon Gruden, who resigned in October as Las Vegas Raiders head coach. Gruden was an analyst for ESPN at the time the emails were sent.
