The University of Louisville divers showed their skills at the House of Champions diving meet in Indianapolis. The Cardinal men’s diving team, consisting of Adam Sneden, Che Stephens, and Rayce Winn, competed in the Diving Team Event and claimed first place with a score of 333.15, narrowly defeating IUPUI by 3 points. Rayce Winn, a freshman, achieved a personal best score of 343.00, securing fifth place in the men’s 3-meter final. Che Stephens finished 11th in prelims with a score of 263.75.

The Lady Cards also had a strong showing, with three divers qualifying for the 1-meter final. Else Praasterink finished in third place with a score of 260.75, after being the top qualifier in prelims with a score of 297.20. Samm Helmboldt finished fourth with a score of 258.10, while Lindsay Gizzi finished sixth with a score of 239.05. Grace Leonard placed ninth in the prelims with a score of 253.05.

In the women’s 3-meter event, Else Praasterink continued to impress, claiming first place with a score of 302.75. Her exceptional performance in prelims, achieving a lifetime best score of 339.95, set her up for success. Lindsay Gizzi finished third with a score of 292.25, and Sammantha Helmboldt finished fifth with a score of 278.75. Grace Leonard had a 17th place finish in the 3-meter prelim, scoring 209.50.

The women also competed in the team event, with three divers performing two dives each covering all 6 diving categories. The team of Else Praasterink, Lindsay Gizzi, and Grace Leonard secured second place with a score of 289.40.

On the men’s side, they competed in the 1-meter event. Adam Sneden won the 1-meter consolation final with a score of 320.30. Che Stephens finished fourth in the 1-meter final with a score of 330.45, and freshman Rayce Winn finished in eighth place with a score of 269.45. Rayce had an impressive score of 303.40 in the 1-meter prelims.

The Cardinals will wrap up the diving meet tomorrow with both genders competing on the platform.
