Andrew Nicholson most recently played in the NBA during the 2016-17 season when he appeared in 38 games for the Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards.
That year, he averaged 2.6 points and 1.6 rebounds per contest while shooting 38.7% from the field.
Despite being out of the league for six years, the 33-year-old is still getting paid by the Portland Trail Blazers (h/t Basketball News).
Back in 2016, the Wizards signed Nicholson to a $26 million contract.
The Wizards later traded Nicholson to the Brooklyn Nets, who then traded him to the Trail Blazers in the summer of 2017.
After getting acquired by Portland, he was waived (under the stretch provision), so his contract was stretched out through the 2023-24 season at $2,844,430 per year (via Spotrac).
Next summer, Nicholson's salary will finally come off the Trail Blazers' books.
Nicholson was initially the 19th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of St. Bonaventure.
Over five seasons in the league, he played for the Magic, Nets and Wizards.
His career averages are 6.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 46.7% from the field and 32.1% from the three-point range in 285 regular season games.
The best season of Nicholson's career was his rookie year with the Magic when he averaged 7.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 52.7% from the field in 75 games.
Following his NBA stint, he played four seasons in the CBA, and averaged an impressive 24.9 points per contest over 142 games.
