The 2-0 win over Ferencvaros last Tuesday was Celtic’s first win in the Europa League group stage all season, with goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and David Turnbull securing all three points against the Hungarians.

Admittedly the Hoops are not favourites to win the group – or even to qualify for that matter – with Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen pulling ahead in the race for qualification.

But the win has edged Ferencvaros to the bottom of the group, with the Hungarian outfit failing to register a single point in their quest for European advancement.

It essentially means that the Hungarians must win all of their remaining games and hope that results go their way if they are to qualify for the knockout stages and avoid the trouncing that greeted them at Paradise.

The Celtic performance on that random Tuesday afternoon was something goalkeeper Denes Dibusz has picked up on after being on the receiving end of a strong Celtic attack.

Speaking to the Daily Record, the Hungarian admitted his side were battered at Celtic Park, but will be looking for sweet revenge in Budapest.

I have to admit Celtic created a lot of chances and could easily have scored more goals.

In fact, we should be glad it didn’t become a nasty defeat in the end.

In the second half, we couldn’t get out of our half. We couldn’t find any space and I would honestly say we had no real chance of winning.

We were simply shocked by the Scots after half time and once they took the lead, there was nothing we could do.

We have to learn from this match and we need to be far more attacking.

I think that match against Celtic at home will be our last chance to keep our qualification hopes alive.

The game falls in just ten days time when Celtic travel to the Groupama Arena on November 4, with Ange’s men just four points behind Betis and Leverkusen, who also face off that day.
