Florida basketball has been rolling lately and the Gators’ bounce-back season has put them in elite company with teams with no bad losses.

After going 16-17 in year one of Todd Golden in Gainesville, Florida basketball has bounced back in a big way.

In fact, the Gators are coming off their second-biggest win of the season, beating No. 12 Auburn by 16 points on Saturday afternoon. This is the second ranked win for the Gators in the past three games. They have gone from on the wrong side of the bubble a couple of weeks ago to likely being squarely in the NCAA Tournament field.

Actually, before the win over Auburn, Joe Lunardi had the Gators are one of the ‘last four byes’ in his bracketology.

Florida’s resume is getting more impressive by the week and now with two top-15 wins under their belts, the Gators just have to worry about winning games they’re supposed to in the final few weeks. Also, no bad losses from here on out.

Fortunately for Golden and the Gators, they have zero bad losses this season. That’s right, 16-7 Florida has no losses outside of the Quad 1. This makes the Gators one of seven teams in college basketball without a loss below Quad 1.

Along with the Gators, the top two teams in the nation (Purdue and Connecticut) and three of the top five (also Houston) are on the list along with Indiana State, Dayton, and San Diego State. Those are three of the best mid-major teams in the nation, too.

It’s hard to believe that out of the seven losses, none are lower than Quad 1. That means Virginia, Baylor, Wake Forest, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M were all Quad 1 losses and as long as the Gators take care of the opponents they should from here on out, they should avoid any Quad 2 or Quad 3 losses. That means beating LSU, Georgia, Vanderbilt (twice), and Missouri.

Florida basketball is in elite company.
