GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- In the age of the NCAA transfer portal, there is no guarantee that one team will look the same or similar year-to-year.

But as Florida prepares for an intimidating 2024 schedule featuring three top-six and six top-25 squads from last season's College Football Playoff rankings, it learned that it will meet the same opponents in 2025 — on flipped terrains.

On Wednesday, the Southeastern Conference announced its eight-game slates for member programs next year, further distancing itself from the nine-SEC game schedule of the past with Texas and Oklahoma joining the league from the Big 12 this offseason.

Following the Gators' first matchup with the Longhorns since 1940 in 2024, Texas will travel to meet Florida in Gainesville in 2025, for the first time since 1939.

Texas will be one of UF's three true home opponents in 2025, as the annual Florida-Georgia will be held in Jacksonville, Fla, on Nov. 1. Tennessee and Mississippi State will also travel to Gainesville, the latter for the first time since 2010.

Conversely, Florida will head to Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss and Texas A&M for its conference road slate. Matchups with the Wildcats and Tigers will continue two of the Gators' long-standing annual SEC series.

Dates, kickoff times, and T.V. designations will be announced at a later date.

Three of Florida's four non-conference bouts will occur in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The Gators will host USF on Sept. 6, Florida A&M on. Oct. 11 and Florida State on Nov. 29.

Miami will host Florida to complete a home-and-home series on Sept. 20. The Hurricanes will face the Gators in The Swamp to open the 2024 season, on Aug. 31.
