He got an opportunity to be a part of the Las Vegas Raiders’ organization, but it was not a fit for D.J. Fluker.

The former All-American offensive tackle from the University of Alabama was cut by the team on Friday. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network was first to report the news, and Fluker thanked the Raiders on social media for the opportunity.

Fluker, 33, dropped weight to get in shape to make an NFL return.

He looked great in the Crimson Tide’s 2023 Pro Day, impressing several professional teams. The former first-team All-SEC selection (2012) and three-time BCS National Champion (2009, 2011, and 2012) was a first-round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft. He has played for several teams, including San Diego Chargers, New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks, and Baltimore Ravens.

Fluker has bounced around to a few teams since 2021, but he has yet to find a new home in the league. He was an anchor on Alabama’s most physical offensive line in 2012 that produced two 1,000+ yard rushers with Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon.

Hopefully, Fluker finds a home in the National Football League.
