The CFL and football world got sad news as former CFL defensive lineman Craig Roh has passed away at the age of 33. Roh’s wife Chelsea took to social media Wednesday on Craig’s account to announce that he had lost his battle with Stage IV colon cancer on Monday.

“This is @mrschelsearoh, Craig’s wife. I wanted to let all of his followers know that after an 18-month battle with Stage IV colon cancer, God brought Craig home on Monday, February 26th. Craig was not very public with his battle, as he truly just wanted to focus on bringing the best content and building the best products he could. He laid out a timeline for his business so stay tuned…Many have asked how they can help, I’ve attached our GoFundMe to this post.”

Roh last played in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts in 2020. He was also with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and BC Lions from 2015 through 2019. He finished his CFL career with 34 sacks, never having less than six sacks in a single season.

Before the CFL, Roh played for the FXFL in 2014, making the All-Star team. He also spent two seasons in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers.

Michigan was his college home for four seasons, where he produced 150 tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. He received Big-Ten honors twice in his college career.

After his football career, Roh had an online course called “D-Line University” that helped coach defensive linemen. He had roughly 185,000 followers between Instagram and X.

His memorial service will be on March 16 in Phoenix, Arizona.
