Former Seahawks great emerges as potential Shannon Sharpe replacement on 'Undisputed'

Richard Sherman shut down a lot of great receivers during his playing day but for his next role, he might be shutting down Skip Bayless instead.

On Thursday, the New York Post's Andrew Marchand reported that Sherman has emerged as a candidate for the co-host role on “Undisputed.” Shannon Sharpe left the program after seven years in June.

Sherman was opinionated as a player and fared well during his first year as an analyst on Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football” coverage.

He makes a ton of sense for the role.

He certainly wouldn’t back down to Bayless. As Marchand reminded, the two sparred in a debate on “First Take” in 2013.

"You have never accomplished anything," Sherman cooly told Bayless. Coming off the 2012 season when he was one of 22 position players to receive First Team All-Pro honors, Sherman later told Bayless, "I don't think you're the best 22 anything."

We could expect a lot of viral moments if Sherman is offered the job and accepts.

Hopefully, he would recreate his infamous NFC Championship postgame interview by yelling at "Undisputed" moderater Jen Hale that Bayless, like Michael Crabtree before him, is "sorry" at his job.

At the very least, he can tell Bayless to delete his Damar Hamlin tweet
