The first two episodes of Halo Season 2 premiered on Paramount+ Thursday night, and viewers are loving it.
Maybe it's because Halo Season 2 is much darker and more dangerous, says star Pablo Schreiber.
They’ve scored it a healthy 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a marked improvement on Halo Season 1’s score of 82%.
It also makes Halo Season 2 some of the best-reviewed TV of 2024 so far. Apple’s prestige WW2 drama Masters of the Air currently sits at 86%, while Amazon’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith series scored 89%.
It’s tied with True Detective: Night County, which also has a 93% rating. That said, both shows are ongoing, so there’s still time for their ratings to change.
In episode one, Sanctuary, “A deadly evacuation mission signals a shift in Master Chief's war with the Covenant; on Reach, a new regime takes the reins at FLEETCOM; John senses a looming threat close to home.”
Then, in episode two, Sword, “John pushes Silver Team to its limit as he searches for missing Spartans; Kai worries about John's stability; Kwan finds the Rubble is a far more dangerous place in Soren's absence; Halsey seeks the identity of her captor.”
