Both teams are between the best four teams and aim to end the tournament with the trophy in their hands. The winner of this match will face Panama or Guatemala next Saturday in the tournament’s final.

The reigning three-time champions Costa Rica advanced to this round after defeating Canada 3-2 in the quarterfinals, thanks to goals from Minor Cabalceta, Milinton Tijerino, and Gilberth Vindas. In the group stage, the Costa Rican side had ended in first place with 9 points from three wins, a perfect streak. Today they will aim to secure their fifth victory in a row.

On the other hand, the Cuban team also defeated the Dominican Republic by a score of 2-1 thanks to goals from Jonathan Hernández and Diego Ramírez. They notably have an undefeated four-game streak, securing two wins and two draws in the tournament.

The Cubans want to break the 19-match unbeaten streak held by the Costa Ricans, who last suffered a defeat in the 2008 edition. Their rivals have gone three editions without losing.
