The Denver Broncos are benefitting from one of the more inexplicable falls in the 2024 NFL draft on Day 3.

The Broncos decided to trade up and snag first-round draft pick Bo Nix's teammate, Oregon WR Troy Franklin. They received picks No. 102 (round 4) and No. 235 (round 7) from the Seahawks for Nos. 121, 136 (round 5) and (Round 6).

Broncos score Bo Nix's favorite target at Oregon

The 6-foot-2 and 170-pound receiver was a favorite target of Nix over the past two seasons. During that span, Franklin caught 142 passes for 2,274 yards and 23 touchdown receptions. They were really the driving force behind the offensive success of the Ducks over the past two years.

Why was Franklin available on Day 3 after many touted him as a potential first-round prospect? Well, the wide receiver isn't the most physical and struggles when defenders press and get their hands on him. However, when he gets a free release off the line of scrimmage, his release packages are deadly and he can create a ton of separation.

The move makes a ton of sense for Denver as they look to build an offense around their new quarterback. These two already have a major headstart as far as building chemistry is concerned, giving Nix an instant weapon should he earn the starting job for the Broncos.
