The Tennessee Titans clearly had a plan to get get bigger, stronger and more physical entering the 2024 NFL Draft. After nabbing OT JC Latham in the first round, the Titans executed their plan and added even more beef on the other side of the trenches in Texas DT T'Vondre Sweat.

Sweat, who checked in at six-foot-four and 366 pounds at the combine, is going to wreak havoc on interior offensive linemen across the league. Nicknamed Loaf, short for meatloaf, Sweat is a space eater and a people mover.

In his final year at Texas, Sweat recorded 45 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks and four passes defensed, all of which were career highs.

One can only fantasize about the amount of damage Sweat is capable of doing alongside Jeffery Simmons and vice versa. Sweat will command double teams on the inside simply due to his size and bull rush abilities, which will open up more one-on-one opportunities for Big Jeff.

Simmons is clearly excited to have a new partner in crime on the defensive line. The two-time Pro Bowler took to X to express his enthusiasm for the Titans' newest addition.

"Oh man!! Let’s go! Finally got another bull in the interior!! Lets work big dawg!!! @TvondreSweat"

There is arguably no better mentor Sweat could have as he embarks on his career in the NFL. Simmons, like Sweat, had his own red flags coming out of college, but he's been steadfast in putting all of that noise to bed.

Simmons leads by example with an unmatched work ethic and leadership in the locker room. Sweat won't only benefit from Big Jeff on the field, but he will be a key asset to the rookie off of it as well.

The Titans added a total of 708 pounds in the trenches over the last two days. By drafting Latham and Sweat the Titans have already slashed two massive needs from their draft check list. General manager Ran Carthon now is left with five picks in his arsenal as the Titans roster continues to take shape in Day 3 of the draft.
