Joe Buck to reportedly take turn as 'Jeopardy!' guest host

It appears the long-time voice of MLB and the NFL on Fox will get a shot to be the next Alex Trebek.

According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Joe Buck will be a guest host on "Jeopardy!" putting him in contention for the permanent job.

Buck's episodes are expected to air in the mid-summer, Marchand says. It's unclear how long Buck will be hosting, though guest hosts have typically done one or two-week stints.

The 51-year-old becomes the second guest host from the world of sports, following Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who hosted over the last two weeks.

Other guest hosts have included Katie Couric, Dr. Mehmet Oz and Ken Jennings. Anderson Cooper, Bill Whitaker, Mayim Bialik, Savannah Guthrie and Dr. Sanjay Gupta are all expected to host in the coming weeks and months.
