John Cena knows The Rock and Vin Diesel very well.

WWE and Hollywood star John Cena was a recent guest on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. When asked about the Hollywood rivalry between Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel, Cena described them as alpha, driven people, and when two of those types of people get together, there can only be one.

“There’s certainly rumors about that. I can’t deny that,” John Cena said. “You have two very alpha, driven people. You get two; there can only be one.”

While The Rock and Vin Diesel butted heads, Cena believes his time in the WWE locker room prepared him to be a team player when he joined the Fast & Furious franchise.

“Man, you gotta remember I got dropped into a locker room where [we have] generational vets,” John Cena said. “‘What’d your dad do?’ ‘Wrestle.’ ‘What’d your granddad do?’ ‘Wrestle.’ I’ve been in that environment; know the room, and just kind of adapt to what’s going on.

“I’m being invited into someone’s home, into someone’s family. And regardless of how they look physically in comparison to another human being, this is one IP that has had nine installments and it’s an action movie — that’s rarefied air. At the very least, there has to be respect for that.”

Will John Cena return for Fast 11?

Although it seems Cena’s character was killed off in Fast X, deaths in this franchise rarely last. Despite that, the WWE Superstar understood his role in this franchise regardless of whether he gets to return for the final installment.

“I’m not trying to get the sandbox. That’s not my thing,” John Cena said. “I’m grateful for what you’ve given me; I just want to be the best firetruck I can.” [H/T: People]
