Lionel Messi has been in promising form with the Argentina national team as of late. The Argentine forward notched a hat-trick against Bolivia last month in 2022 World Cup qualifying play and recently scored a key goal in Uruguay.

Overall, Messi has scored nine goals in all competitions for Argentina in 2021. This has included five goals in 2022 World Cup qualifying action and four goals over the 2021 Copa America tournament.

Argentina currently has a mere three international fixtures remaining in the calendar year. If Messi were to score a single goal in any of these matches, he would reach double-digits in goals for the first time since 2012, when he scored 12 goals over nine matches.

The Argentine forward has also played the role of a playmaker for La Albiceleste this year, which includes the five assists recorded during the recent Copa America tournament.

Paris Saint-Germain club officials sure must be pleased with Messi’s recent form in all competitions.
