Most of 2023 was spent in court and in debates over a prenuptial agreement for Kevin Costner, star of 'Yellowstone' and 'Dances with Wolves.' This is probably not how he saw his life going, and certainly not what he wanted to be doing, but 2024 offers hope and a renewed spirit for the actor. His divorce from Christine Baumgartner is now settled, and the 69-year-old actor has surprisingly found new love.
Costner is enjoying this new phase of his life while spending time with his new romantic interest, singer Jewel. The couple was first spotted at a charity fundraiser on Richard Branson's Necker Island in December 2023. Speculation arose when they were seen spending time together sailing and scuba diving.
It has been rumored that Baumgartner expected and wanted all the finer things in life. Costner seems to enjoy the simplicity of the 49-year-old musician Jewel's happiness.
After putting the divorce behind him and having the legalities over with, Costner is back to work on his new four-part movie, 'Horizon: An American Saga.' He is also co-parenting his three children with Baumgartner.
There have been recent reports that 'Horizon: An American Saga' may face criticism due to Costner's past and influence with 'Dances with Wolves,' where Costner directed a revolutionary film portraying Native Americans in a positive light.
Now, critics are saying the first release of the trailer for Costner's 'Horizon' puts settlers as the "good guys" and Native Americans as the "villains."
If Costner does face new criticism, it surely won't be the first time or the last, and after the year that he has endured with all of the "Yellowstone" drama and a contentious divorce, it will seem like a tiny speed bump in the course of life.
For now, it seems he will enjoy working and exploring a new romance.
