The upcoming NBA season is still months away, but it hasn't stopped FanDuel from naming their odds-on favorite to win the MVP.

According to the site, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is the favorite, followed by Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, and Kevin Durant.

Luka Doncic (+480)

Giannis Antetokounmpo (+700)

Joel Embiid (+800)

Kevin Durant (+800)

Stephen Curry (+800)

FanDuel isn't the only betting site to predict that Luka will hold the MVP next season. Another popular network, BetOnline also made the bold prediction back in August:

"Though, James is behind five other stars," wrote TalkBasket. "Luka Doncic is the favorite at 9/2, followed by Steph Curry (7/1), Giannis Antetokounmpo (15/2) and Joel Embiid (17/2). LeBron shares the sixth place with Damian Lillard (both at 12/1). Two other Lakers players are on the list, namely Russell Westbrook (25/1) and Anthony Davis (28/1)."

Luka is still just 22-years-old, with a whole lot left to prove in the NBA. But to think he has a good chance at winning MVP this upcoming season is not a stretch.

Through three seasons in the league, he is averaging 25.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 7.7 assists on 45.7% shooting as the face of the Dallas Mavericks.

With another summer of training and growth, there's really no telling what Doncic will be capable of over this next season. All we know is that the expectations for him are quite heavy.

As for the others, nobody should count them out, either. Whether it's Giannis, Embiid, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, or Damian Lillard, the NBA has no shortage of superstars who are ready to take the league by storm. With new opportunities and a fresh start, truly anything can happen.

At this point, all we can do is watch and wait to see how it all plays out, and if Luka ends up proving the oddsmakers right.
