Iowa guard Caitlin Clark is poised to make history on Sunday afternoon and Minnesota Lynx legend Maya Moore wanted to be a part of it.
The former Lynx star surprised Clark before her game against Ohio State, appearing during an interview with ESPN's Elle Duncan and drawing a scream of joy from the top star in college basketball.
Moore is one of the biggest legends in the history of women's basketball as a two-time Naismith College Player of the Year and national champion at UConn before becoming the 2014 WNBA MVP and winning four WNBA titles with the Minnesota Lynx.
Clark is on her way to paving her own path as the reigning Naismith College Player of the Year and scoring 3,650 points during her four seasons with the Hawkeyes. Clark also entered Sunday's game 17 points shy of Pete Maravich's NCAA record for a Division I basketball player (male or female ) with 3,667 points.
Clark has helped Iowa become a national power in women's basketball, leading the Hawkeyes to the national championship game last season and ranking sixth in the latest women's basketball AP Poll with a record of 24-4.
Clark had a triple-double in Iowa's 46-point win over the Gophers on Feb. 28 and she'll be back in Minneapolis this week for the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament March 6-10 at Target Center.
