In an exciting clash this weekend, the Kentucky men’s soccer team will be facing off against the formidable No. 2 ranked Notre Dame. The game is set to take place at Alumni Soccer Stadium in South Bend, Indiana on Sunday at 5 p.m. EST.

Kentucky has been on a strong run in recent years, making it to the second round of the NCAA DI Men’s Soccer Tournament for five consecutive seasons. This achievement sets them apart as one of just three Division I programs to accomplish this feat, alongside Indiana and Georgetown.

Under the leadership of head coach Johan Cedergren, who has been with the team for 12 seasons, Kentucky has made it to 10 NCAA Tournaments and has a total of 14 appearances in program history. The team’s success is a testament to Cedergren’s coaching expertise and the dedication of the players.

In the first round of the tournament, Kentucky secured their spot in the round of 32 with an impressive performance. Senior Ben Damge scored two goals, known as a brace, to secure the victory against Xavier. Additionally, freshman Josh Gordon and Marqes Muir provided assists, while goalkeeper Casper Mols earned his seventh clean sheet of the season and eighth win.

Notre Dame, on the other hand, comes into the match after a tough loss to Louisville in the quarterfinal round of the ACC Tournament. However, they received a first-round bye in the NCAA Tournament, giving them time to regroup and prepare for their upcoming game against Kentucky.

The all-time series record between Kentucky and Notre Dame stands at 3-2-0 in favor of Notre Dame. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2021, resulting in a 1-0 victory for Kentucky on their home turf. Their first encounter took place in 1991, with Notre Dame securing a 2-0 win at home.

For fans who want to keep up with the action, live stats for the match at Notre Dame will be available online. Additionally, the game will be streamed live on ESPN+ for those who wish to watch it.
