Justin Pippen, a four-star shooting guard, declared his commitment to the University of Michigan on Friday. Pippen, the son of former NBA standout Scottie Pippen, chose Michigan over competing offers from Texas A&M, California, Florida, UC Santa Barbara, and Stanford.

Pippen, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 180 pounds, is ranked as the No. 93 overall prospect and the No. 20 shooting guard in the 2024 class. He is also ranked as the ninth-best player in California, according to On3 industry rankings.

Following Pippen’s commitment, Michigan’s recruiting class for 2024 ranks No. 52 nationally and No. 10 in the Big Ten. He joins three-star recruit Durral Brooks in the Wolverines’ upcoming class.

The Michigan basketball program is gearing up for a new chapter in the 2024-25 season with Dusty May at the helm as head coach.

May’s appointment followed the dismissal of former head coach Juwan Howard, who left after a disappointing 8-24 season. The selection of May, previously considered a candidate for the Louisville job, came as a surprise to many.
