It was a disastrous start to a highly-anticipated season for junior pitcher Jordy Bahl and the Husker softball team.

With one out in the bottom of the third inning, Bahl lost her footing and landed awkwardly. She struggled to stand up and was helped off the field with a slight limp.

She returned to the dugout and was lifted from the game entirely.

The junior struggled with her command from the start. She walked four batters and struck out three in just over two innings of work. The right-hander was also charged with three earned runs on two hits.

In her two at-bats, she earned a walk and was hit by a pitch. She also stole her first base of the season.

At the time this story was published, the Huskers trailed the Huskies 6-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning.

This is a developing story.
