Nick Saban provided an update on freshman defensive back, Tony Mitchell during his media availability at the Nick’s Kids Golf Tournament Tuesday.

Mitchell was arrested on March 15 and was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and/or deliver. Saban announced the former five-star defensive back was suspended from the team following his arrest.

“Tony Mitchell is suspended from the team and all team activities until we gather more information about the situation and what his legal circumstance is,” Saban said. “Everybody’s got an opportunity to make choices and decisions. There’s no such thing as being at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

The Alabama head coach revealed there is ‘nothing new’ concerning Mitchell Tuesday as the Crimson Tide freshman continues to work through his legal troubles.
