The No. 13/6-ranked University of Louisville swimming and diving team is gearing up to face off against long-time rival RV/RV Missouri this Friday, January 5, at 12 p.m. The competition will take place at the Ralph Wright Natatorium.

The Cardinals are coming off a strong performance in their last meet, the Ohio State Invitational, where they finished third in both the men’s and women’s competitions. Ohio State took first place in the women’s competition, followed by Indiana in second and Louisville in third. On the men’s side, Indiana claimed the top spot, with Ohio State in second and the Cardinals in third.

Missouri, on the other hand, last competed on December 2 against in-state rival Missouri State. They dominated the meet, with both the men’s and women’s teams claiming victory. The Tigers have been on a roll, winning their last 15 consecutive meets. They also received votes in the most recent Division I swim and dive rankings.

These two teams faced off last year, with Louisville sweeping the Tigers in Columbia, Missouri. The women secured a convincing 207-93 victory, while the men triumphed with a score of 175-125. The Cardinals were dominant, winning all four relays and 20 individual events.

The order of events for this upcoming meet includes the 200 Medley Relay, followed by the 1650 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, 50 Freestyle, 1M Diving, 100 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke, 500 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly, 3M Diving, 400 IM, and finally, the 400 Free Relay.

Both teams will be looking to put on a strong performance and continue their success in the pool. It promises to be an exciting and competitive meet between these long-time rivals.
