Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher has predicted that Celtic will win the Scottish Premiership after Sunday’s Glasgow Derby. The Man City supporter has had a fondness of Celtic given his Irish upbringing and the legendary musician said that he fancies Brendan Rodgers’ side to go on and win the title.

Speaking to Talksport with Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil after discussing Man City’s thrilling 3-3 Champions League draw away to Real Madrid, McCoist couldn’t resist asking about his thoughts on the Glasgow Derby at Ibrox last weekend.

“What a game that was. Rangers had equalised and Celtic go up the other end and score – I thought that was it. But now Rangers are in the driving seat because if they win the game in hand they are ahead. But, you can’t call it…”

Brazil then reminded the High Flying Birds frontman that the split will bring a final Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park, which could have an enormous say in where the title ends up.

“Well, you can. 60,000 at Parkhead – you can call it…”

The former Oasis songwriter and lead guitarist then accepted this and predicted that Celtic would go onto secure a third successive league title: “Well, yeah. I have got to say the Bhoys will do it, yeah.”

Celtic have the chance to go four points clear on Saturday after Dundee’s game against Rangers was postponed. Stephen Robinson’s St Mirren visit Paradise whilst Rangers travel to Dingwall to play Ross County. The Paisley side have already qualified for Europe but they are still hoping to push on and qualify for European football.
