It's week 2 of the college football season and all of the Oregon Football community has their eyes on Lubbock as the No. 13 Ducks prepare for a non-conference clash with the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

However, there's one soundbite coming on the heels of Oregon's week 1 win over the Portland State Vikings that's been making the rounds this week.

During an interview on John Canzano's "The Bald Faced Truth" radio show, Portland State Vikings head coach Bruce Barnum shared that one of his players suffered a bizarre injury, getting part of his ear ripped off in their 81-7 loss to the Ducks.

"We're fine. Knock on wood. We had one guy get his ear ripped off," Barnum told Canzano. "They sewed it back on and now they say he has a concussion, so he's out. But I think he's fine."

It's not too often that players suffer ear injuries in football games, and Barnum provided some clarity on what he thinks unfolded last Saturday at Autzen Stadium.

"Not the whole ear, but partial ear detachment," the PSU head coach added. "I think it was from when he got his helmet knocked off and I think his ear didn't come out of his helmet. Anyway so they were sewing him up--I guess that means you have a concussion. And again, we're making sure he's fine. So he'll sit out this game."

The Portland State Vikings hit the road to Laramie this week to face the Wyoming Cowboys, who just upset Oregon's week 2 opponent, the Texas Tech Red Raiders, in a 35-33 double overtime win to kick off their season.
