Having already visited Purdue football earlier this year, Zionsville (IN) Class of 2025 standout Max Phenice is now seeking an offer from the Boilermakers.

Phenicie, a 6-foot-2-inch, 205 pound safety, already holds offers from the likes of Colgate, Eastern Michigan, Army, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Cornell, Maryland, Miami (OH), Michigan State, Ole Miss, Penn., Air Force, and Toledo.

Looking back on his visit to Purdue football, the in-state prospect said he had a “really good time.”

“I enjoyed getting up there and getting to spend time with the coaches, seeing what they are like not in a game day situation. I think what stood out to me the most was their ability to interact with the recruits and have a good time with them. I learned about their scheme and how unique it is compared to other teams. I also learned about their culture and what they believe in. I enjoyed most seeing the facilities and getting to better my relationship with the coaches,” Phenicie told BoilerWire.

Offer from Purdue would “mean a lot”

Growing up in Indiana, Phenicie admits an offer from Purdue football would “mean a lot.”

“Also growing up in Indiana, you always are watching them on Saturdays, so it would definitely mean a lot,” Phenicie said.

Last season, Phenicie, who was named to the Indiana Football Coaches Association Junior All-State Team, recorded 58 tackles, two tackles for a loss and a fumble recovery.

Zionsville opens the season Aug. 23 at Pike, and the ’25 prospect has high hopes for himself and the Eagles.

“My goals for this season are to improve on our win total and finish with a winning season,” Phenicie admitted.
