Last season, the Baltimore Ravens had an elite defense that helped take the franchise to the AFC Championship game, but NFL Free Agency has seen multiple players leave.

As the offseason nears the NFL Draft, one player that the Ravens could have an interest in taking is cornerback Josh Newton from TCU.

Baltimore lost Ronald Darby in free agency and could use some more depth to ensure that the defense doesn't get exposed this season if Marlon Humphries or any other starters deal with injuries this upcoming season.

TCU's Josh Newton fell down board throughout the 2023 campaign, but he was a key member of the 2022 Horned Frogs that went to the National Championship Game," BR writes. The article adds that Newton is a "very good press man player. Patient at the line of scrimmage with quick feet and the ability to stay square. That skill could be a foundation for the Baltimore coaching staff to build on."

Although the Ravens may not get an immediate return from Newton, when investing a draft pick on day three into a player, it's often for a developmental prospect, and that's precisely what Newton could become: a prospect with upside.

The Horned Frogs' veteran cornerback enters the league with a lot of reps, having played over 4,000 snaps in college, which means that he shouldn't be caught off guard if forced to step up.

As the offseason continues to progress, keep an eye on Baltimore's secondary to see if it signs a veteran like Stephon Gilmore; if not, the odds that the team targets a player like Newton could continue to rise.
