The Baltimore Ravens (4-2) will go up against the Detroit Lions (5-1) this Sunday looking to follow up a less-than-stellar victory last week with a better one in this one.

While the Ravens haven't exactly played like the NFL's top competitors many anticipate they'll become perhaps the heart of a champion being present Sunday will help them reach that level of performance.

If Baltimore coach John Harbaugh has his way, they'll be hearing from that champion - former outside linebacker Terrell Suggs - before kickoff.

"I think if he shows up, and he has got a word, definitely," Harbaugh said when asked about Suggs speaking to the team. "We're kind of that way with everybody...[With] a legend like that - a guy that understands what it's all about - the guys would love to hear from him, I'd love to hear from him, and that'd be awesome if it works out."

Suggs, who will be inducted into the franchise's Ring of Honor Sunday, was five years and two Pro Bowl selections into his NFL career when Harbaugh arrived in 2008.

From there Suggs and Harbaugh would join forces for 11 seasons with the linebacker earning five more Pro Bowl trips and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

The two won a Super Bowl together as well by defeating the San Francisco 49ers at the end of the 2012 season.

"He was a guy that I think just enjoyed the game," Harbaugh said about his time getting to know Suggs. "He enjoyed every part of the game; the physical part of the game; the relationship part of the game. He liked being the villain - like he would talk about - part of the game. I think he loved being a Raven. So, yes, it's a great honor. Congratulations. It was a great honor to coach him, to be part of his career. That's one of the things I'll cherish the most looking back on it someday."
