Another top prospect is set to make his Blue Jay debut.

Toronto infielder/outfielder Otto Lopez has been called up to the MLB, as Antonio Puesán first reported. The organization has not yet confirmed the transaction or a corresponding move.

Lopez signed with the Blue Jays in 2016 and is currently the organization's No. 8 prospect. MLB.com's scouting report identifies that Lopez "does a little bit of everything, and does most of it quite well."

"As one of the most versatile players in the organization," the scouting report reads. "Lopez has super-utility potential, which opens up several different avenues for him to reach the Major Leagues."

The 22-year-old Lopez has played 80 games across double- and triple-A this season, hitting .324 with a .398 on-base percentage across both levels. With just three homers, 25 of Lopez's 31 extra-base hits were doubles, but he managed 12 stolen bases as well.

The Blue Jays have asked Lopez to play across the diamond, playing four different positions in his 11 triple-A games alone. In the minors this year, Lopez has played at shortstop, second, center, left, and right. He's primarily played at second base (45 starts) but began playing centerfield more (18 starts) in recent weeks.

Though the corresponding move is not yet known, Lopez's defensive versatility could make him a replacement for nearly anyone on Toronto's roster or add a valuable bench bat for the National League series. The transaction would be made official ahead of Tonight's game in Washington.
