Chelsea beat Southampton 3-1 at the weekend in what was an important three points to pick up right before another international break.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have just come off the back of two defeats in a row and needed to get back to winning ways.

As ever, the German head coach decided to mix things up and pick a very surprising starting Xl, one that included the likes of Trevoh Chalobah, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, which nobody would have predicted.

All three played well, and Loftus-Cheek bossed it in midfield alongside Mateo Kovacic and had a really good game once again, showing the form he showed in 2018 before his serious injury.

He may well have not been at Chelsea at all this season according to The Daily Mirror though.

According to them, Loftus-Cheek was offered out to West Ham United on transfer deadline day the summer just passed, but that obviously didn’t transpire.
