All eyes were on the huge showdown between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the South Carolina Gamecocks Sunday afternoon, as the two women’s basketball titans go at it for the right to become the last team standing in the Big Dance. Enter legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson, who expressed his displeasure over ESPN’s broadcast of the contest.

Samuel L. Jackson Hits ESPN for Broadcast of Iowa State vs South Carolina

Apparently, Samuel L. Jackson was not a big fan of ESPN having The Bird & Taurasi Show hosted by Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi covering the big game as an alternate broadcast.

“Who TF @ESPN thought this podcast commentary is a good idea??!! I never knew I needed an ABC feed before!!!,” the Coach Carter actor posted on X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter) while watching the title game.

Jackson was not alone in his gripe over ESPN’s broadcast. Many of his followers on X echoed his sentiment.

“With you

on that -had to switch to ABC to save my sanity,” X user @MEL18451 said.

“Yeah, I’m pissed @ABC not showing the game in my area. these UCONN women are strait haters. You really can’t enjoy the game,” said @bluecollfan.

“I know, right. I said the same thing, awful idea. Nothing against them, but people are trying to watch the game. Once I realized it was on ABC, I turned the channel.

As for the game itself, the Gamecocks successfully avenged their Final Four loss to Iowa in 2023, as they took care of business this time around, beating Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes, 87-75, to end the 2023-24 college basketball season with both an undefeated record and a national title.
