Syracuse women's basketball is headed to the NCAA Tournament in year two of the Felisha Legette-Jack era. Syracuse has earned the 6-seed in Regional 3 and will face the 11-seeded winner of a play-in game between Arizona and Auburn. If SU wins, it faces a potential second round matchup at UConn. The Huskies are the home team for the first two games as the three seed and will face 14-seed Jackson State in the first round.

Should Syracuse upset UConn and advance to the Sweet-16, a potential matchup with two seeded Ohio State awaits. The top seed in SU's region is the University of Southern California (USC).

This is the 13th time the Syracuse women's basketball team has been selected to the NCAA Tournament in program history. It is the first selection since 2021.

The Orange finished the season with a 23-7 overall record including several wins over ranked opponents, highlighted by sweeping ACC Champion Notre Dame. The 23 regular season wins tied a program record, and tying for second place in the regular season standings was the best for the Orange since joining the ACC. Syracuse was picked to finish ninth in the conference in the preseason and shattered those expectations. That led to Legette-Jack being named ACC Coach of the Year and a semifinalist for National Coach of the Year.

Syracuse started the season 3-0 before suffering a heartbreaking loss at Maryland in a game the Orange largely controlled. Syracuse would respond, however, with eight straight wins. That winning streak was snapped at North Carolina before winning six more in a row.

Despite all of that positivity and beating several ranked teams, Syracuse did have a bit of a setback down the stretch of the season, losing three of its final four games. That included a home loss to Duke, an overtime heartbreaker at NC State and a loss to Florida State in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals.
