The Tennessee Vols' path to landing an elite 2026 four-star quarterback got a little easier this weekend.

Four-star quarterback Faizon Brandon is one of the Vols' top quarterback targets in the 2026 recruiting class.

Brandon, 6-foot-4/175 lbs from Greensboro, NC, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 5 quarterback in the nation and the No. 67 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

Earlier this month, the Georgia Bulldogs seemingly got into the mix for Brandon when they extended an offer to the North Carolina native.

“Georgia has been showing interest and the offer from them means a lot,” said Brandon to On3. “I watched them growing up and I like how Georgia has a standard of working hard and pushing yourself to be the best you can be.”

“This offer gives me a lot more interest in Georgia," added Brandon of the offer from the Bulldogs.

Less than a week after receiving an offer from Georgia, the Bulldogs are no longer a viable option for Brandon, removing one major contender from the battle for the four-star recruit.

That's because Georgia received a commitment from 2026 five-star quarterback Jared Curtis on Saturday.

Curtis, who is from Nashville, is ranked as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class.

The Vols were also in the mix for Curtis, but it was always unlikely that Tennessee was going to land him after securing a commitment from 2025 five-star quarterback George MacIntyre earlier this year.

With Curtis off the board, and Georgia no longer in the market for a 2026 quarterback, it makes the path to landing Brandon a bit easier for the Vols. Tennessee can focus its efforts on Brandon more while also not having to worry about Georgia's presence in recruiting battle for the talented quarterback.

Brandon is set to take his next visit to Tennessee on April 13, the weekend of the Vols' spring game (which will be limited capacity).
