AEW President Tony Khan has been on the news lately. People have been questioning his actions following the airing of the backstage footage of the altercation between current WWE Superstar CM Punk and Jungle Boy Jack Perry at the AEW All In pay-per-view. It is also a known fact that AEW has often taken shots at WWE during the televised shows. It seems like Khan is still open to working with WWE in the future, but it all depends on the circumstances.

Recently, Tony Khan was interviewed by Liam Crowley of Comicbook.com. During the interview, Crowley asked Khan if he would ever be interested in working with WWE as little as sharing talents. Tony Khan replied by claiming that the idea is interesting. But at the same time, it would all depend on the circumstances.

“It’s an interesting thought. It would depend on the circumstance,” Tony Khan said.

Tony Khan welcomes competition in the professional wrestling business

While the AEW President seems to be open to the idea of working with WWE, he certainly is welcoming the competition that WWE and other wrestling promotions bring. While speaking to IndieWire, Tony Khan mentioned that competition plays a major role in the recent success of professional wrestling.

“There’s a number of big factors that would play into why wrestling has seen such a great renaissance in recent years,” Tony Khan said. “I think it comes from the great competition in wrestling right now, and the fact that there are so many great stars competing right now.

“Everyone knows that the most real thing in wrestling is the competition between the companies. The companies hate each other, and it will be a natural resource that powers the industry. They want to beat each other and take everybody’s free agents, and that makes it interesting for everybody else.”
