The Toronto Argonauts announced the team has signed wide receiver Rasheed Bailey. "Showtime Sheed" will be trading in Bomber Blue for Double Blue next season.

One of Winnipeg's most beloved role players, Bailey, an unrestricted free agent, foreshadowed his departure from the Bombers on his ShowtimeSpeaks podcast, expressing his gratitude and love for his now-former team and its fan base.

Bailey, 30, played 18 games with Winnipeg in 2023, catching 46 passes for 508 yards and six touchdowns. The 6-1, 217-pound receiver has played his entire four-year CFL career in Winnipeg, helping the team get to four straight Grey Cups, winning two.

The Philadelphia native's best season came in 2022 when he caught 63 passes for 729 yards and nine touchdowns. For his career, Bailey has hauled in 180 receptions for 2,072 yards and 20 touchdowns over 58 regular season games.

The Delaware Valley University product spent 2015-18 in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles (twice), Jacksonville Jaguars, San Diego Chargers, Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers before coming north to the CFL.

In Bailey, the Argonauts gain a physical veteran presence in their receiving corps who can instantly start in the slot. Toronto has eight receivers with minimal to no CFL experience on their current off-season roster.

The signing of Bailey could mean that the door is closed on the return of another American veteran receiver Cam Phillips. The current free agent has been with Toronto since 2021.
