Coming into the 2024 NCAA Tournament, the Connecticut Huskies were the heavy favorites to take home the NCAA Championship. It was easy to see why they were such a highly regarded team as UConn was elite in every facet of the game during the regular season.

The Huskies steamrolled through the regular season, going 28-3. The only resistance they faced in the Big East tournament was from St. John’s, who they beat 95-90 en route to that trophy as well.

The momentum built in the Big East tournament has carried into the 2024 NCAA Tournament. No matter who has been in UConn’s way, they have dominated, showcasing that they are the cream of the crop in Men’s College Basketball.

The closest game the Huskies have had in the 2024 NCAA Tournament to this point has been against Northwestern, whom they beat 75-58. Stetson was defeated by 39, while San Diego State was beaten by 30 and Illinois, the No. 2 rated offense in college basketball, was beaten 77-52 en route to the Final Four.

This kind of dominance has quite literally never been seen in the NCAA Tournament. According to Ben Fawkes, a professional sports bettor, UConn has won and covered 10 straight games in the tournament.

They are the first team in the seeding era, since the mid-1980s, to win and cover that many games in a row. They have done it without much of a sweat for people backing them, as the Huskies have covered the spread by an average of 13 points per game.

UConn has made a lot of people money over the last two NCAA Tournaments with their dominant run. The team who will be tasked with stopping that run is Alabama, who defeated Clemson in their Regional Final to advance to the Final Four.
