Florida State linebacker Derrick Brooks was a destructive force in Tallahassee from the time he arrived as one of the nation's most heralded recruits. The two-time consensus All-American was the 1993 ACC Defensive Player Of The Year. Brooks was also a three-time All-ACC selection. He registered 274.0 tackles, 18.0 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and 5 interceptions for his career. FSU won its first National Championship in 1993 with Brooks manning the defense.
