The Wisconsin football program has added another non-conference series to its docket, this time in the 2029 and 2030 seasons.

Wisconsin announced a home-and-home series with the University of California, with the first matchup taking place in Berkley in 2029 before Wisconsin hosts the 2030 matchup at Camp Randall.

Wisconsin Football Locks Down Home-and-Home Series with Cal

When the Badgers and the Bears meet in 2029, it will be the first matchup between the two programs since 1990, when California defeated UW 28-12. Cal currently holds an all-time series lead of 5-1 and has won five straight games against Wisconsin dating back to 1947.

Wisconsin was initially set to take on UCLA for the 2029-30 slots, but after the Bruins joined the Big Ten, those matchups were nullified.

The addition of the home-and-home adds to Wisconsin’s growing list of future non-conference opponents. UW will have matchups against Western Michigan, South Dakota, and the first leg of the Alabama series when the 2024 season begins, with all three matchups coming at home.

In 2025, the Badgers will take on Miami of Ohio and Middle Tennessee State at home before facing the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa to wrap up the home-and-home series.

Then, in 2026, it will be Western Illinois, Pittsburgh, and Notre Dame, with the matchup against the Fighting Irish taking place at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

UW also has three non-conference opponents set for 2027, with games against Southern Illinois and Colorado State at home and a matchup against Pittsburgh in Ireland.

Beyond that, the Wisconsin football program has a matchup against Utah in 2028 and 2033, as well as a home-and-home series with Virginia Tech in 2031 and 2032.
