Sir Geoff Hurst has tipped Harry Kane to fire England to glory in Euro 2020 as he did in 1966.

Harry Kane is England’s captain and arguably best player as the Three Lions attempts to win the latest Euro tournament and end their wait for another trophy.

The Tottenham striker has a good goal-scoring ratio for the national team and impressed in the last World Cup.

England reached the semi-final and Kane was the competition’s top scorer.

He has remained at his lethal best and will lead England out for the Euros after winning the Premier League’s Golden Boot in the just-concluded campaign.

England is in a tricky group alongside, Croatia, Czech Republic and Scotland, but they do have an advantage because they will play most of their games at home if they reach the final of the competition.

Geoff Hurst fired the Three Lions to glory in 1966 and believes that Kane can do that even though scoring a hat-trick in the final as he did will be hard.

When asked by Four Four Two if he thought Kane can replicate what he did, he said: “Yes, he can. It’s going to be extremely hard: history has told us that for 55 years, nobody has scored a hat-trick in a major final! Harry has been outstanding for Tottenham and England.

“He’s not just a goalscorer now; his overall play has developed in the last couple of years, and he is such a dangerous player. He can score and create goals.”
