Broncos injury updates going into the bye week

The Denver Broncos have some extra time to get healthy this week thanks to their bye that came at a much-needed time for a banged-up roster.

The big three injuries for the Broncos going into their bye week are left tackle Garett Bolles (ankle), right tackle Bobby Massie (ankle) and outside linebacker Bradley Chubb (ankle/injured reserve).

Broncos coach Vic Fangio wasn’t able to provide much clarity when asked for an update on those three players during his Monday press conference.

“I’m not sure yet,” Fangio said. “I think all of them are a little different on the timetable of those three guys you mentioned. I don’t think I can give you a concrete answer on either one of the three yet.”

So is there a chance those players might be unavailable against the Los Angeles Chargers after the bye?

“Yeah, for sure,” Fangio said. “There’s a chance.”

That doesn’t seem like a great sign, but we’ll know more about the statuses of those three players when Denver returns to the practice field next week.

Meanwhile, inside linebacker Baron Browning (back) will hopefully be recovered by Week 12, but his injury status is something to watch given how much time the rookie has missed this season with various ailments.

Fellow linebackers Micah Kiser and Andre Mintze will soon be eligible to return from injured reserve, and cornerback Michael Ojemudia is already eligible to return. So the Broncos should be getting some reinforcements before too long, but probably not all by Week 12.
