Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth continues Cloud’s journey into the unknown, and while it doesn’t carry over all of the progress from FF7 Remake, there are certain bonuses returning players can get. Those who’ve already played FF7 Remake and its PS5-exclusive expansion, Episode INTERmission, will be able to transfer their save file to the sequel to redeem some sweet rewards. The same goes for those who completed the FF7 Rebirth demo, with some neat advantages that will give you quite a headstart.
Here is everything you need to know about transferring and redeeming the various save data bonuses in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
The first step you should take before thinking about the save bonuses is to make sure you have the file on your console. If you played FF7 Remake on a PS4 and then upgraded to the PS5 version, then you’ll be familiar with the process. Just navigate to the “Saved Data/Game App” settings menu on your PS5, open “Saved Data (PS5)” and check if you still have the old save file. If you don’t then you have two options:
Now, once you've got the save data, open up FF7 Rebirth. On the main menu, select the "Check Saved Data" option, then wait for a few moments as the game checks for the file's validity. After this, just start the game as you would and play until the end of the Nibelheim flashback, which is the game's opening chapter.
Once you're back in control of Cloud in the present day, pause the game and navigate to the DLC/Bonuses tab in the settings menu. From here you'll be able to select whatever bonus you need.
The save data bonuses in the game are from three different projects - FF7 Remake, FF7 INTERmission, and FF7 Rebirth demo. Here are all the rewards you can get through them:
