Jacksonville Jaguars Sign Jabbar Muhammad: 3 Things To Know About 'Eraser' Cornerback

Former Oregon Ducks All-American cornerback Jabbar Muhammad was not drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, surprisingly, but is headed to the NFL as an undrafted free agent. The Jacksonville Jaguars are signing Muhammad.

Despite elite production and superb game film against the elite programs in the country, Muhammad is a player who didn’t quite fit the prerequisites from a profile standpoint. Regardless, he’s one of the best cover players in this draft and Jacksonville just added an elite playmaker very capable of making the roster.

Once projected as an day two NFL Draft pick, tt's unclear what caused Muhammad to go undrafted. Jacksonville general manager James Gladstone might have just secured the steal of the weekend.

“I’ve been an eraser in every single scheme,” Oregon defensive back Jabbar Muhammad said to reporters at the NFL Combine. “I think my best trait is position flexibility. I think you can’t keep me off the field, that’s what I think my best trait is. Whoever is drafting me, that’s what they’re going to get,”

STATS/RECOGNITION

Muhammad came in at 5-9, 182 pounds at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. The lockdown cornerback played his final year of college football with the Big 10 Champion Oregon Ducks. Before his shining season in Eugene, Muhammad also played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Washington Huskies. Muhammad was an all-conference selection at all three stops, making him the only player to be named All-Big-12, All-Pac-12, and All-Big-Ten. Muhammad also earned multiple All-American honors.

Muhammad amassed a remarkable 26 pass breakups over the last two seasons, including a whopping 14 in 2023, which ranked him third in the nation. Muhammad brings some position versatility, as he can line up on true number-one receivers and use different coverage techniques in similar concepts. Muhammad particularly showcases his ability with soft press man coverage, which enables him to use his disciplined eyes and natural instincts.

Muhammad will bring swagger, but also a steady presence on the field. Whatever frustration he has with his draft placement won’t be a negative or something that lingers; it’ll be used to propel him to continue defying the odds. The organization won’t have to worry about what type of player they’re getting, and that’s invaluable no matter where the player is selected.
